Interested in starting up Pride events where you live?

Pride started out in many places as a community grassroots protest, to take up space and demand visibility, safety, and equal rights for 2SLGBTQ+ people.

These days it can seem like large scale Pride events in major cities require event staffing, corporate sponsorship and city permits – but they all begin with people on the ground who want to create spaces for people to exist and connect with each other.

We encourage folks to get out there, and check out events big and small, talk to each other about the movement and how it is organized, and what impacts can be made within community.

That’s what Pride season is all about!

Ontario’s 2SLGBTQI+ communities show their pride each summer to celebrate diversity and love in all its forms. These celebrations honour the tremendous achievements made to expand inclusivity and equality for 2SLGBTQI+ people.

While Toronto’s annual Pride festival is the largest Pride event in Canada, it’s joined by cities, towns and communities across Ontario hoisting the rainbow flag in their own celebrations and reflections.

Destination Ontario has put together a great (but not exhaustive) list of many of the upcoming 2025 summer Pride events and festivities that are taking place across the province — there are parades, street fairs, and full-fledged festivals happening to mark cities, small towns, and regions.
