Advancing trans inclusion and inclusion in the HIV sector in Ontario
Download
The Trans Interweaving Project (TIP) was a trans-led community-based participatory action research project to examine and explore how the GMSH and Ontario’s HIV service organizations could better integrate trans and non-binary people in projects, programs, and services. There are three principles underpinning trans inclusion and integration. First, use an intersectional approach to embed trans inclusion; second, to involve trans people in the HIV work meaningfully; and third, for the principle to be strengths-based, celebratory, and empowering. There are twenty-two recommendations for the Ontario HIV sector to advance trans inclusion in HIV work in the report Embed: Advancing trans inclusion and inclusion in the HIV sector in Ontario.
