Crystal Meth

(Methamphetamine, Tina, Meth)

What It Is

Crystal meth is a strong stimulant that looks like clear or white crystal shards. It has no smell and tastes bitter. In party n’ play (PnP) settings, it’s often used to boost energy, confidence, and extend sexual encounters.

How It Works

Crystal meth increases brain chemicals like dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. These chemicals make you feel alert, excited, and full of energy.

How It Might Feel

  • Sudden rush of pleasure (especially when smoked or injected)
  • Long-lasting high (up to 12 hours)
  • High energy and alertness
  • Less need for sleep or food
  • Fast heartbeat and higher blood pressure
  • Increased confidence and desire to socialize

The effects depend on how much you use, how often, and how you take it. Smoking or injecting gives a fast, intense rush. Snorting or swallowing brings a slower but still strong high.

Using and Dosing

RouteOnset SpeedNotes
SmokingImmediate (~seconds)Long high; use clean pipes
SnortingFast (~minutes)Can irritate nose; use personal tools
OralSlow (~15–20 min)Safer but longer wait; effects last 6–8 hours
InjectingImmediate (~seconds)Highest risk; always use sterile needles
Booty BumpingFast (~minutes)Strong effect; rotate methods to protect tissue

Start low and test your supply. Use with people you trust.

Mixing with Other Drugs

Drug TypeInteraction
AlcoholCan overwork the heart and hide signs of intoxication
OpiatesMay feel weaker, leading to higher doses and overdose risk
Stimulants (e.g., cocaine)Adds stress to heart; raises risk of stroke or heart attack
HIV Meds (e.g., ritonavir)May slow meth breakdown, increasing overdose risk
Antidepressants (MAOIs/SSRIs)Can cause dangerous reactions or high blood pressure

If you take prescription meds, talk to a healthcare provider before mixing.

Safety and Safer Using

  • Use clean tools—don’t share needles or snorting tubes
  • Test your supply with a small dose first
  • Stay hydrated and take breaks to cool down
  • Avoid mixing with other drugs; if you need to mix, consider taking a smaller dose of each.
  • Never use alone—have someone nearby who can help
  • Rotate methods to reduce harm to veins, nose, or rectum

The Drug & The Law

Crystal meth is illegal to possess or sell in Canada. But under the Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act, you can call 911 during an overdose without fear of simple possession charges. This applies even if you or others are on probation or parole.

Final Thoughts

Crystal meth can bring intense energy and connection in PnP settings, but it also carries serious risks—especially with frequent use or mixing substances.

Taking breaks, having supportive friends and focusing on self-care like drinking water, eating and getting sleep will make for a healthier experience.

Take care of yourself—and each other.
