Ketamine

(K, Special K, Vitamin K)

What It Is

Ketamine is a strong anesthetic that shows up as a clear liquid or white powder. It’s used medically but also in party n’ play (PnP) settings. People may use ketamine to relax, feel detached, or to help make sex less uncomfortable.

How It Works

Ketamine blocks certain brain signals, making you feel disconnected from your body and surroundings. It also boosts dopamine, a chemical linked to pleasure, and affects opioid receptors—adding to a dreamy, floating sensation. In PnP settings, ketamine may lower pain, relax muscles, and help with intense sex. This  effect can lead to injury, as pain does not register until after the effects of the drug have worn off.

How It Might Feel

  • Relaxed and floaty
  • Numb or out of body
  • Some users may enter a “K-hole,” a deep trip with strange visions or strong emotional reactions.
  • After using, you may feel tired, low, or confused. Memory gaps or flashbacks can happen too.

The Highs & The Harms

  • Lower sense of pain (may lead to injury)
  • Faster heart rate and higher blood pressure
  • Blurry vision or slow movement

When used often or in high doses, it may cause bladder or kidney issues, known as “K-cramps,”

Using and Dosing

Always start low and use clean supplies. Avoid using alone.

Mixing with Other Drugs

If you take prescription meds, talk to a doctor or pharmacist before mixing.

Safety and Safer Using

  • Test your supply before using
  • Use clean tools and rotate methods
  • Stay hydrated but avoid overdoing it
  • Plan for rest and recovery afterward
  • Never use alone—have someone nearby
  • Go slow with dosing, especially if trying a new batch or method

If you’re having sex consider having the active partner be sober, or check in more frequently; stop if there are any signs of injury like blood.

Final Thoughts

Ketamine can bring relaxation and pleasure in PnP settings, but it also carries risks. Be thoughtful with how, when, and why you use ketamine. Stay informed, protect your body, and take care of yourself—and each other.
