Managing the Comedown
After the high comes the crash. Feeling sluggish, sad, cranky, or sick for a few days is totally normal. How rough it gets depends on:
- What you took
- How much
- How long you partied
- What your body’s been through (lack of sleep, food, water, quiet, rest)
Now’s the time to give your body what it’s been missing.
Crash Course: What Helps
- Drink more water than you think you need. Yes, water!
- Caffeine might help with low energy—but only a little.
- Skip work, social plans, or chores if you can. You probably won’t feel up for it.
- Sleep whenever your body lets you. Don’t fight it.
- Get fresh air at least once a day. Even a short walk helps.
- If you’re having dark thoughts, reach out. One text to someone you trust is enough.
- Do not make major life decisions while coming down.
Girl, do not decide to quit your job or get divorce. Don’t even change your hair colour.
